Ocean of Thoughts

That’s how you wanted it to be. You want to put her up in a pedestal as high as you can so that you can make sure you’ll break every bone in her body when you finally put her down. You want to put her in her place, you say.

But the thing is, you’ve miscalculated.

You’ve miscalculated her strength, her kindness, her enduance to pain, or her abilities of becoming without you. Her intelligence, her intuition when she already sensed bad intentions when you first came into her life. She can see right through you.

You thought you’ve deceived her.

But actually she made a choice.

She made a choice to give you a chance, even if part of you seems dangerous, for she knows and trusts your abilities to be better. She made a choice to act on her love, accepting the risk of your sins befalling upon her. She made the choice to take you in, along with your imperfections. She made the choice to stay, when you gave her every reason to leave. She made the choice to let you be, because at the end of the day it is up to you, the choice to be better is for you anyways, not her. She made the choice to let you be your own person, because she wants you to be your own, to be independent and accountable, and she her own.

She made the choice to be transparent, even if she knew your actions are full of deception. Finally, she made the choice to let you go, because she already did her best.

And she has courage. She has the courage to never look back to what was familiar, because it hurt her so bad. She has the courage to be her own again, without you.

She had the courage to walk away. And she’ll have the courage to begin again.
